Partnerships & Affiliates
In addition to the public affairs agenda, programs and networking opportunities, the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce addresses the diverse needs and interests of business and the community at large through a variety of affiliated organizations, including:
Forward Sioux Falls is the successful joint-venture economic development partnership between the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce and Sioux Falls Development Foundation. Forward Sioux Falls began its fifth phase in 2006, with goals that include workforce development; business retention and expansion; new business development; technology development; business leadership and advocacy; and preservation and enhancement of the excellent quality of life in Sioux Falls.
The Sioux Empire Housing Partnership (SEHP) promotes increasing the supply of housing for moderate income buyers. The SEHP, consisting of representatives from business, local government and community groups, accomplishes its mission through research, public education and advocacy efforts aimed at building public support for housing production.
The Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) markets and showcases the City of Sioux Falls in order to expand the number of, and accommodate the needs of, visitors to the city. The CVB is a program of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
Since the 1950s, the Sioux Falls Development Foundation (SFDF) has been the central force for economic development in our region.
Today, the group administers first-class industrial parks, provides information and services for growing and relocating businesses and coordinates economic development strategies for a strong future for the Sioux Falls area.
The Sioux Falls Sports Authority was formed in 2006 by community leaders to recruit major sporting events to the Sioux Falls area. The organization attracts international, national, regional and state sporting events by operating, leasing, enhancing or owning sports facilities in the Sioux Falls area. It is run by a board of directors made up of 15 community members, an executive director and project director.
Zeal is a 501(c)4 not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to diversify and expand the regional economy by providing "best practices" incubator services and networking opportunities to qualified new and early-stage technology-based companies. The Zeal building is a 38,000 sq. ft. facility offering office, lab and light manufacturing space for lease. Tenants are encouraged to "graduate" from the facility in five years.
